How Counselling and Psychotherapy can Help Me
Whether you are struggling with a particular crisis or just feel generally depressed or anxious, my counselling and psychotherapy sessions create an important private space where you can talk through these difficult emotions. Having that chance to speak freely once a week, without fear of judgement, can be so helpful, as it allows you to feel less weighed down by challenging thoughts and feelings during the week.

This could involve developing a range of strategies that enable you to make positive changes that are important to you, or working on a deeper level to understand the root causes of your distress so that you can make the changes you wish to.

Dealing with these feelings of hopelessness and lethargy on your own is difficult, and I am extremely experienced in enabling people to move out of that dark place. We will work on understanding where these negative emotions come from and encourage more positive ways of being that don’t reinforce your low mood. I work with a lot of people who live with anxiety. Many people, both men and women, have trauma from their past that they are still carrying. This trauma is something you actively hold in your body, leading you to have feelings of anxiety, stress and depression. As a result, you might feel constantly overwhelmed, overthink and catastrophise over certain issues, experience social anxiety and panic attacks, or engage in obsessive-compulsive behaviours and unhelpful patterns.
Together, we will work to better understand the trauma you hold inside yourself and find healthy ways to express feelings that you maybe have been holding onto unconsciously.
